Background: Agricultural activities involve physical demands and the use of pesticides, which can potentially lead to occupational health issues for farmers. Problems may arise from the use of chemical pesticides, which can cause poisoning, skin irritation, nausea, nervous system disorders, hypertension, anemia, and even cognitive impairments.

Purpose: To provide education on agricultural ergonomics and to assist a farmer group in learning about and applying botanical pesticides specifically those derived from neem leaves on rice crops.

Method: The activity was conducted on July 29–30, 2026, in RW 03, Margodadi Village, Metro Selatan District, Metro City, Lampung, involving 23 members of a farmer group. The stages of the activity included identifying issues through observation and discussion, presenting material via PowerPoint, facilitating discussions and Q&A sessions, demonstrating the preparation of neem leaf extract (led by students), and providing guidance on the application of the extract to crops. Evaluation was carried out descriptively by observing participant engagement, discussions, Q&A sessions, and the application of spraying techniques for the botanical pesticide, with a focus on reducing ergonomic risks and assessing the effectiveness of the pesticide used.

Results: All participants (23 individuals; 100%) attended the educational sessions and field-based guidance. Participants were actively involved in discussions, demonstrations, and the practical application of spraying equipment and botanical pesticides in the fields. The activity provided the participants with an introduction to and practical experience regarding ergonomic principles and the use of neem leaves as an alternative pest control method.

Conclusion: Education on ergonomics and guidance on the application of neem-leaf-based botanical pesticides were successfully implemented, effectively enhancing the community's understanding of the health risks associated with pesticides. The demonstration of botanical pesticide preparation, combined with hands-on guidance, provided direct experience in simple ergonomic practices for using spray equipment and highlighted the benefits of using botanical alternatives to conventional pesticides.

Suggestion: Future activities should incorporate more measurable evaluation designs, ergonomic risk assessment instruments, documentation of musculoskeletal complaints, and quantitative observation of pest populations and crop damage.
