Publication Ethics

JOURNAL OF Public Health Concerns (PHC) is a peer-reviewed electronic journal. This statement clarifies the ethical attitude of teamwork in publishing an article in this journal, including the author, the chief editor, the Editorial Board, the peer-reviewer, and the publisher (Unit Penelitian dan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (UPPM) Akademi Keperawatan Baitul Hikmah). This statement is based on COPE’s Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.

Ethical Direction for Publication

A peer-reviewed article is absolutely necessary for the development of the quality of an article and for giving feedback to the author. The author gets direct reflection regarding their article with the aim of improvement of his effort. A peer-reviewed article is a part of following the scientific method. Therefore, necessary to concur in a standard attitude of the ethical direction for publication as a team who are involved, such as the author, the journal editor, the peer reviewer, and the publisher.

The publisher takes commitment following all stages and extremely seriously as a consequence of ethical responsibilities. The publisher ensures in all stages of the process without being affected by advertising, reprint, or other commercial revenue on editorial decisions. In addition, the editorial team like to collaborate with other journals and/or publishers for improvement.

Publication Decisions

The editors were responsible for deciding which of the articles to publish. The editors adhere to the policies of the journal's editorial board and requiring of legal requirements as shall then be in force regarding libel, copyright infringement, and plagiarism. The editors like to discuss in a team to make the final decision.

Fair Play

Regularly evaluates of articles  as intellectual property with justice without any discrimination to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.

Confidentiality

The editor's team prohibited spreading any information about an article to anyone except to own author, reviewers, and other editorial advisers. Ensuring the secrecy of the author is the right of dignity.

Disclosure And Conflicts of Interest

An unpublished article would like to return to the author, removed from the database and prevent misapplication of an article in the future.

The Reviewers Task

Contribution in Editorial Decisions

Assignment as a peer review assists the editor in making editorial decisions and through the editorial could feedback any suggestions or recommendations to the author to improve the quality of the article.

After receiving the article, the editor will immediately process and the author could follow the path of the management process until the final results of the publication.

The article has been submitted at a time during a process, handled as confidential documents. The reviewer and editorial board take responsibility for an article.

Reviewing process is conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is prohibited. The arbiter assesses an article as consider its views with clarity and supporting arguments.

Reviewers identified relevant and appropriate articles, supported by citations. All statements that an observation, derivation, or argument reported are accompanied by the relevant citation. Reviewers warn to keep attention when finding any substantial similarity or overlap.

Disclosure And Conflict of Interest

Privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review keep on confidentially and preventing illegal use. Reviewers keep attention to conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or fellow authors, companies, or institutions.

The Author's Task

Reporting standards

The authentic article is presented by an author in referring to the research result, finding data accurately, creditable, and accountable performed as well as an objective discussion of its significance. Insufficient contain detail and references may others by convenient to find the reference. The proceeding of data manipulation is considered a violation, unethical behavior, and unacceptable.

Data Access and Retention

The authors supply the raw data relation to an article for editorial review and also provide public access to such data (consistent with the ALPSP-STM Statement on Data and Databases), The author's article published, the author has to retain such data in service of information when any event of a seminar presentation.

Originality and Plagiarism

The authors make ensure that the article written is original,   of one's own, and if the authors have used the statement of others, requiring an appropriate citation.

The author is prohibited a publish the same article in several journals, as indicating unethical behavior and is unacceptable.

The author's attitude has to acknowledge the scientific paper of others, also requiring several citations from reputable of a journal.

Authorship of Research an Article

The authorship is to be restricted, merely to those who have a contribution to the research processes such as conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the result. The contributors are to be mentioned as co-authors. The main author ensures that all co-authors have an agreement, a final version of the article, and going to publish.

Hazards and Human or Animal Subjects

When the project involves a chemical, procedure or equipment on the type of hazardous properties inherent in their use, the author is to be explained clearly and identify in the manuscript.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest

Authors are required to expose clearly a conflict such as financial conflict, substantive conflict, or interest that might be interpreted to affect the result during a project. All financial resource support in the project needs to be disclosed.

Fundamental errors in published works

When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in his/her own published work, it is the author’s obligation to promptly notify the journal editor or publisher and cooperate with the editor to retract or correct the paper.
